WELCOME TO THE ELIJAH PROGRAM!

The secular world refers to a family, wherein the children are at odds with the law, the school authorities, their own parents, and even themselves, as a dysfunctional family. The Christian Community refers to such a family as a family that is no longer, for whatever reason, rightly ordered in God's Way. That is, the family has in some way drifted away from centering itself on the presence of God in their individual and family lives and decisions, and away from God's Word and worshiping community. We call that, a family that has lost its First Love. The first love we as individuals and as families are called by God to have, and which is given to us by Him, is our unswerving and total love of Him. Even some of the great figures and personalities of the Bible have, at times, had to regroup and allow worldly events to go on around, but without, them as they received special food and care from God and His servants. Our program for students who have come into conflict with school, the law, the community or their own families, and who are drifting through childhood toward an uncertain adulthood is called the Elijah Program(TM), named for one in Biblical times who had to leave the rush and strife of the worldly community for a short time before returning even stronger and more productive than before. And the Word of the Lord came to him (Elijah) saying, "Go away from here and turn Eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, which is East of the Jordan. And it shall be that you shall drink of the brook and I have commanded the ravens to provide for you there." So he went and did according to the Word of the Lord, for he went and lived by the brook Cherith, which is east of the Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning and bread and meat in the evening, and he would drink from the brook. (1 Kings 17:2-6)

The Elijah Program(TM) is structured to remove a child from influences and activities which have been and are harmful to him or her, and to strengthen the God given influences of his or her parents, who have the fundamental right and responsibility to raise and direct the education of their children. The Elijah ProgramTM seeks to restore children who are in difficulty, and their parents, to a right relationship with each other, and with God, in a Church Based worshipping community. This is done by restoring three important links for these children and their parents: (1) The link between the School, the church and the family; (2) The link between the generations of Americans young and old which has always been critical to the success of our youth; and, (3) The link which looks to the future of the student by exacting an honorable relationship between the student's employer if there is one, the School and the student. Elijah Program(TM) students are required to attend church at least once each week. This is not merely attendance to satisfy a requirement but a serious attempt by us to bring the student and his or her family, into a close relationship with a worshipping community. It is the primary purpose of this program to help students who have experienced problems within the educational system, within their community or home, or who have violated the law or school code, find a reasonable course of action to attain educational success and reach an honorable and productive adulthood. This program reaches out to those students, many of whom expressly have a need to regain their self respect. It is the purpose of this program to offer guidance so that they will in the due course of time graduate with dignity. Any program which is designed to meet the needs of such students must also offer reasonable solutions to existing problems. This program therefore offers both correction and direction to the student in the form of mentoring sessions for both students and parents. Biblical correction and godly direction is an indispensable part and purpose of this program, following the guildlines in Dr. Blansett's book, Cooperative Compliance(TM). The Elijah Program(TM) provides an excellent opportunity for parents and children to rebuild their naturally close family relationships. The Elijah Program(TM) opens the door of opportunity to many students to succeed who would otherwise fail to successfully complete their high school education. It is at the apex of its services to all of our students that they be encouraged to come to a personal saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Elijah Program(TM) is therefore designed with this highest ever present. By separating the generations to a greater degree as each succeeding generation has come of "school age" our society has unintentionally created a "generation gap". The Elijah Program(TM), by its Biblical design and through its Certified Christian Mentor(TM) feature, has the potential for restoring a viable loving relationship between the generations, thus erasing the distance between them. The Elijah Program(TM) will meet a deep need in the hearts of all existing generations, but especially in the hearts of our youth.

Certified Mentors or Certified Christian Mentors(TM) are an indispensable feature of the Elijah Program(TM), and is crucial to its success. A Christian, church-affiliated mentor or mentor couple will be assigned to each student and his or her family. These mentors will be working with both the student and the parents as well as their special abilities and unique qualifications, and have expressed their willingness to work with students in this program. They are mature persons well established in a church, recommended by their pastor, grounded in the faith, and trained in Dr. Blansett's Elijah Program(TM) copyrighted and proven method of Mentoring and recognized as a Certified Christian Mentor(TM). The student will be required to attend a church of the parents' choice on a weekly basis and will be required to file monthly reports, through their mentors, regarding church attendance. In the event a family does not have a church affiliation, Dr. Blansett will offer help in their becoming affiliated with a church. In any case, at least regular weekly church attendance is required of all students enrolled in the Elijah Program(TM). Regular meetings will be held with the child, his siblings, parents and assigned Mentor, preferably at their church facility may be scheduled by our Elijah Program(TM) staff or mentors for both the student and parents. If these meetings are scheduled for a particular student and parents they must be attended if the student is to remain in this program. If a meeting is scheduled and canceled for any reason, there will be a rescheduling fee which must be paid at the time of the rescheduled meeting. In the case of no-shows, that is, where the courtesy of a telephone call has not been extended, there will be an additional rescheduling fee which must be paid prior to rescheduling the meeting.

The student, by virtue of filing an application for entrance into this program, agrees to abide by all Elijah Program(TM) rules and prescriptives. Violation of rules or refusal to accept prescriptives could result in immediate suspension from the Elijah Program(TM). The decision to suspend or expel a student from Elijah Program(TM) is reserved for Dr. Blansett, and is final. The Elijah Program(TM) enforces both a random as well as a targeted drug assessment program. In some instances the student will be allowed to be tested at home. In other instances the student will be required to be tested at the Church in the presence and under the direction of the Assigned Mentor. Refusal to be tested according to Elijah Program(TM) guidelines, whether at home or in the presence of the Mentor will result in immediate removal of the family from the Elijah Program(TM). If in any case, a student withdraws or is removed from the Elijah Program(TM) for any reason at any time after official acceptance is granted, no refunds will be made, state and/or city authorities will be notified if appropriate, and the student's parents/guardians remain liable for all charges pending.
